A truly extraordinary piece of Australian automotive history, this genuine Ford Australia-built XY Falcon 4x4 Ute began life as a six-cylinder vehicle produced as part of Ford's tender for the Australian Army. One of just 432 factory-built XY Falcon 4x4 utilities, it is an exceptionally rare vehicle in its own right and has subsequently been transformed into a V8-powered performance ute over more than two decades of ownership and development.

Today, it features a full race-prepared 351 V8 built by Mario at Performance Unlimited in Welshpool, along with extensive GTHO-inspired upgrades. The original Ford Australia 4-wheel-drive system remains, while the vehicle tag identifies the current V8 configuration.

The attention to detail and specialist involvement is extensive. Bodywork and paint were completed by Steve Bova at Jewels Panel & Paint, while the bespoke wheels were built by Stan's Tyres & Rims from solid billets to suit larger GTHO-style rims and the factory 4x4 hubs. The complete package was then assembled by Performance Unlimited.

The previous owner has devoted more than 20 years to the vehicle, with the last 10 years involving a major restoration and development program. The ute has been rebuilt and refined over many years rather than being used as an everyday vehicle and has reportedly never been displayed at car shows or previously advertised for sale.

Inside, the original 3-seat configuration has been retained, including the folding rear 'dicky' seat, with the interior fully reupholstered. A long-range fuel tank with twin fillers adds further practicality to this already highly unusual package.
